Review of Caloca Bible Rebinds

This is a review displaying two of the books that Diego Caloca, of Caloca Bible Rebinds, just rebound for me.

20160707_120026First off, I have to say, I am amazed at the humility, price and skill of Diego. Although I am still getting to know him, I would absolutely recommend Diego for any rebind project that you would like done! Not to mention, his new website (continuing to be built) spotlights some of the fine quality work he is doing. I am going to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Hands down, Diego Caloca is one of the men in the world today at such a young age that I have great respect for. Instead of sitting around serving himself in a world of entertainment and acting like a mere boy, Diego has set out on a humble, yet noble task, of learning the trade of fine leather book/Bible rebinds. Instead of playing the fool of narcissistic ease, he is helping others without breaking their wallet.”

Journals of George Whitefield

First is off, my old ripped up Journals of George Whitefield.  This book is my personal favorite book outside of the Bible. It was a simple soft cover with basic glued binding. The pages were falling out of it and the cover had been taped. The work that Deigo did was beautiful! I sent him a few messages to see what he thought about the idea of doing a black leather hardback for me. Take a look at what he has done so far! I have not even received this back yet and I am already excited.

New Reference Bible

Secondly, my new reference Bible. I wanted something a bit smaller for carrying around, yet I wanted to keep the reference ability, so I found a very good priced Bible that I liked and had it shipped directly to Diego. He then took off the original cover and ‘went-to-town.’ Just look below at his detailed hand and dedication to fine covers. I picked told him the type and color of leather, I also requested 3 ribbons, as for the rest, I gave him liberty to do as he wanted and saw fit.

The Forgotten?

The one thing I truly appreciate about Diego, and fully agree with, is the fact that he has not forgotten about those who go without Bibles. For we ought to never forget about our brothers and sisters in Christ who have yet to ever receive, nor see, their first Bible.
