The Collision of Will and the Constraining Love of Christ

It is the power of God working conversion in the lives of men (and women) as men choose to embrace the love of God in and through Christ’s propitiation that was demonstrated for all. For God has indeed made Himself known – yet most will deny Him and deny His love. But those who truly embrace Christ are first to admit, even though their wills are free and active in making sound decisions, their power is grossly insufficient to craft a darkened sin laden heart into a new creation. And although God is indeed sovereign and omniscient, although the book of life has already been written, what man, woman or child, what beast or flower of the earth, what vast universe can attain such knowledge?

Therefore, in working under God’s sovereignty, and working in His economy, we, that is those of us truly born again to new life, are constrained by the love of God to be witnesses, in love, mercy, patience, and humility to every person that we meet. Thus our hope is that more people will yet have their will collide headlong with the person of Christ and the sovereignty and power of God. For to His glory that we labor, and that we would boast in Him, giving verbal mention and practical application of our lives to Christ His Son and His powerful working Spirit. For our will, regardless of its given freedom, is ever so temporal and will one day need be given account for by its owner. And who of us knows who might be saved tomorrow through the preaching of the true Gospel today?

Let us boast in our God and respond to our salvation by being good witnesses of His workings, salvations, graces and mercies.

“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Thought: If cancer radically destroys tissue and alters one’s life, if an accident deforms our bodies, if the smallest of microscopic bugs can make one sick and can kill, how much more radically changed is the life of one who collides with the God of all creation, encounters the love of Christ and is convicted by His Spirit? Oh to have our wills active and in alignment with the will of the Father.
