There is rarely in life anything more difficult than loosing a friend, a co-worker, a loved one, or a spouse. Any yet in this life, death will come, the hour usually unknown, and most often never prepared for.
Today a memorial service, a celebration of life, was held for a dear friend who found freedom amidst a very trying time fighting breast cancer. I was honored and completely given the privilege to share a few words.
Below is a rough recording of what was said. I hope and pray it will help those struggling to heal and maybe even those now battling cancer themselves.
“Kristen is defined, not by her disease, nor her human strength, nor her past, not even her own faith, but she is defined, and to be remembered, by her great and loving God, who through the worst of circumstances, called her to Himself.“
“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things unseen.”
Hebrews 11:1
If after listening to this, you want to know more about how there is authentic hope that really does exist, please feel free to download my books, “Grace Upon Grace,” and/or “The Foothills of True Grace.” (more here)
A special thanks to all who helped put the Celebration of Life together. Also, a thank you to Ralfie, the best BBQ and beans I have had in Northern Illinois! (check them out: http://www.ralfiesbbq.com/)
Please, pray for the friends and family that grieve her lose.
Peace and blessings all!
