I remember about 15 years ago a dear brother in Christ, a man who befriended me and mentored me, gave me some very good advice. He told me if I wanted to know who our God is more, growing deeper with Him and in His word, and to begin a daily habit of reading my Bible, he suggested that I set out on a one month reading plan.
What is the plan?
Simple.
Simply read one chapter of Proverbs and four chapters of the Psalms (5 chapters when shorter) everyday and in roughly 31 days you will have read all the way through – not to mention, getting to know the attributes of God and growing deeper in wisdom. If you will pray through the Scriptures, seeking out who this God of ours really is, seeing first hand what He loves and what He hates, applying the passages to yourself, you will grow in Christ and be “transformed by the renewal of your mind.” (Romans 12:1-2)
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.” Psalm 119:9
So with the new year literally around the corner, why not start Jan 1st?!
And feel free to comment below how it is going – either daily or at the end of the study. Remember, if your Bible reading is not where you want it to be, only you can laydown the things of this world and pick up His word.
And please do not forget all of those people who would love to have a Bible and cannot afford one. Pray and help us to get Bibles into peoples hands and lives. Visit: http://www.EyeonChrist.com/BiblesKenya
Peace and blessings all!
