Resolutions: Jonathan Edwards

1 corinthians 2_2Early in his first letter to the church in Corinth, Paul made a bold resolution by saying, “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2, ESV) In the New American Standard the word determined is used, and in the New International Version the word resolved is used. Paul makes possibly the chiefest of resolutions in that Christ would be forefront and foremost. Many times over we can see that Paul is both convicted of such and this conviction has become his reality. “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24) Continue reading “Resolutions: Jonathan Edwards”
